isolation
i used to fear being alone.
scared to go out alone
scared to walk alone
scared to BE alone
wondered if the day would come
that i would be left alone.
yet i admired those who chose.
to be able to stand on their own two feet
rise tall
their individuality set them apart
made them distinct
made them so different that they were isolated
yet it was that that made them beautiful
strength beyond the dead
words beyond the silence.
if only i could learn to break free
of the nothing that was holding me down.
why am i so afraid?
